The ingredients are as follows:
Water, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Citric Acid, Cetrimoniun Chloride, Dimethycone, Copolyol, Cyclomethicone, Keratin Ceramide, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, and Fragrance.
Wash hair and towel dry. Apply with massages. Leave on hair from 2 to 3 minutes depending on the condition of the hair. Rinse.
I am a big fan of this product. Now mind you, if I see either mineral oil and/or petroleum in a hair product, I become very skeptical re: the effectiveness of the product. However, my hair has reacted very well to Silicon Mix even though it has mineral oil as its second ingredient! The only way that I can somehow rationalize that is the fact that the other ingredients either work really well with the mineral oil or possibly "drown out" the possible negative impact of the mineral oil ingredient.
I use Silicon Mix after every shampoo/condition process. So, I wash and condition my hair with Joico's Moisture Recovery products. Then I put Silicon Mix in my hair for about 5 minutes while I go ahead and take care of other beauty regimens in the shower (exfoliate my skin, shave, etc.), and then I was out the Silicon Mix with cool water.
Pros: My hair feels incredibly silky, and when I am done with applying heat to my hair, my hair feels very bouncy, lightweight, and is also shiny (before I even add other products). Silicon Mix has also reduced my hair breakage and strengthens my tresses.
Negative: Silicon Mix has a "chemical" type smell. It's not necessary bad, but it's not the most pleasant fragrance either. However, I'm willing to deal with the smell since the pros very much outweigh the fragrance issue.
