Live Your Most Beautiful Life
Hey ladies-
We all know nutrition affects the way our bodies function and the overall health. Furthermore, nutrition affects hair growth and its health too; which is why a lot of us try to eat better, exercise more, and take vitamins on our hair journeys. However, I feel we dismiss the few days out of the month when we’re on our period.
You see I stated my period three days ago, and was wondering how your period can affect hair growth and hair health. But I got to tell you there’s not much out there, and what is; pertains to hair loss which is not what I was looking for. So I decided to reflect on past years and start this discussion, so you and I could share all the symptoms, remedies, hair routine, and hair process during the days of our period. As an add bonus, if I get a lot of responses and everyone feels it’s a great ideal, I will turn this into my very first group so we may continue to share and help .
• My cycles last 7 days
• I become very tired and sick on my period; a few times I’ve actually vomited and had dizzy spells.
• I lose appetite for everything except for sweats, especially chocolate it sooths my stomach.
• And I bleed very heavy for the first 4 days.
Because of this I eat yogurt, and double up fruits and veggies when I eat; hoping to consume more good sugars then bad. As for my hair, it becomes more itchy, irritated, and oily a week before and during my period. I tried co-wash more, but that didn’t help . so I shampoo every 3 days or so. Bad, I know but, I don’t know what else to do.
