My Weight Loss Challenge Forum (moved to Cafe Belle Fitness Journal section)

Hey Cafe Belle members,
I have just announced on YouTube that I am starting my personal weight loss challenge, and am inviting you to join along as well! The whole point of this challenge is to get fit and healthy. It isn't about trying to get down to a model-thin size. All of us should be mindful of our health and should be conscious of whether we are on track with our exercise and food habits. Why not start or get back on track now? It may be the end of summer, but that doesn't mean that we should go into hibernation mode and forget about our health. Now is a better time than any to kick start your journey to better health and take steps towards a better you!

i want to join you. I eat very badly... lots of pastries and fast food. I want to cut those out and lose 20lbs by the end of October.
Excellent! I'm glad you are joining the challenge! :) I eat badly at times too - I am actually going to make a video soon about my slight obsession with Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts lattes and how I need to cut them out of my daily food regimen to get down to my ideal weight range.
I look forward to watching! I won't be able to upload videos but I'll give updates. All the best on your journey and film as many videos as you can to keep us motivated;)
I have been on a weight loss journey since mothers day and I have lost about 10lbs I would love to join yout challenge for some add motivation.

So, I wanted to start up my jogging exercise regimen today but of course, it rained like crazy here so I didn't think it would be prudent to start up my exercise in pouring windy weather. I will be jogging tomorrow morning, hopefully - pending good weather!

In terms of food, I had a great breakfast: Eggo Waffles and scrambled eggs; for lunch: quesadillas and rice/beans at Chilis; and dinner: salmon and pasta salad.
The salmon and pasta salad was absolutely delicious! Kwan (my boyfriend) made it. It had multi-colored pasta noodles, salmon, hard-boiled eggs, and italian salad dressing. Yum!

Snacking-wise, I didn't go overboard: I ate some yogurt-covered cranberries (by Sun-Maid) and a few potato chips - nothing too major.

I also increased my water intake a bit today, but I could have done better on that front. I'll drink more H2O tomorrow. :)
It rained here yesterday as well, so I made up for it and walked with my sister and mother this morning.
The pasta salad sounds good!

Here is the video that I posted on YouTube yesterday re: the first day of my fitness regimen during the weight loss challenge:

In terms of food, I think I did well yesterday:

For breakfast: Special K Cereal with skim milk
For lunch: Leftover salmon pasta
For dinner: A roast with carrots and potatoes
For snacks: some Yoplait yogurt and Quakes rice snacks (Apple Cinnamon)

So far, so good with the challenge! Hopefully I won't be as tired or winded during tomorrow's run as I was yesterday, but that may take time. Once I build up my endurance, jogging will be so much easier.
OMG!! I love this website, and I am to addicted to Starbucks!! And not to forget Cokes!! but I've decided to join you in this challenge so I can become healthy.
Great! I'm happy to hear that you are joining the challenge, Autumn! :)

So a little food indulgence isn't so bad during a weight loss challenge. :) Last night, Kwan and I went to Chili's to indulge in some delicious food. What did I get? A hamburger, fries, mango ice tea, and some New England Clam Chowder. I personally don't care to get bent out of shape about indulging from time to time during my weight loss challenge. As long as I don't indulge every single day and keep a normal diet for the most part on a day to day basis, a once or twice a week indulgence is no big deal at all, especially if I do some exercise to counteract it.

My exercise plans today: either go to the gym or go running outside by the beach again to continue increasing my endurance. My endurance level is still kind of....eh, not so great. But, this wouldn't be a challenge if there wasn't some difficulty in it, right? :)

If you are participating in this challenge, definitely let me know how your challenge is going and what you are doing to get yourself on the right track with your own set of healthy goals. :) Your comments definitely inspire me!

So I'm pretty happy with certain aspects of my progress this week. One of the things I tried to cut out of my regimen was my slight obsession with lattes from Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. I usually drink those beverages on a very consistent basis, but of course, they don't exactly help if I'm trying to lose weight. This week, I believe I only drank one latte, and it was small size. Hopefully I can continue with this trend and avoid those coffee drinks as often as possible. I think an occasional latte is fine - but it shouldn't be an everyday occurrence.

In terms of exercise, the week got off to a great start, but the week got very busy so I faltered in this area. I plan to make up for that by taking a large chunk of time this weekend to really hit the gym.

Food-wise, I did well yesterday. Kwan cooked up a delicious and healthy turkey stew with green beans, potatoes and carrots. One of the best meals of the week! I also have been consistently eating Special K Cereal in the morning with skim milk, and I also snack on this cereal during the day as well (it is pretty filling for me).

Anyways, enough about me. How is everyone else doing out there with their weight loss challenge? I'm very curious!
I’ve been doing well also. So far I have given up on most of my usual fried options and have had a lot of baked items in my meals. I think cereal is a great part of a diet change. (I’ve been eating raisin bran crunch)

Congrats on your progress!
