Permalink Reply by Kris on February 12, 2011 at 8:48pm I'm happy you brought this up. I personally love makeup and started wearing eyeliner when I was in my teens (I liked the way it outlined/emphasized my eye shape). I think the key to a relationship with makeup is to know first and foremost that you are beautiful without it, and then allow makeup to simply accentuate what is already beautiful about you.
Makeup definitely is not necessary. You can still look appealing to others without layers of it on. In fact, Kwan doesn't like it when I have layers of makeup on. I think a lot of guys think like that. They would rather know that you are confident in your own beauty to not feel the need to hide behind layers of makeup.
When it comes to wearing makeup, I see it as an accentuation of what I consider to be great features, so I like to play up my eye shape, eyelashes, and also my lips with nice lipstick shades. I don't like the idea of feeling tied to it every time I walk out my house, but I do like the idea of having fun with simple makeup looks and making them work with my features as well as my wardrobe choices for the day.

It's an accent to the beauty we ladies already possess, not a means of reinvention. So I guess I'm saying to each is own, our confidence comes from what's within you not what's on your face.
