A MANS WORD

A mans word has so much power, we should never lose track of that. When we make promises, we should stick to them and follow through, or not make them. INSPIRATION: “Girls Are Like Apples On Trees”

INSPIRATION: “Girls Are Like Apples On Trees”

TD_Apple-Tree

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the trees. The boys don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when, in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come…

Grateful to have found a welcoming congregation

This morning I went to church service, it's my second time going to church in quite a while. I feel the need to build community and get closer to God. I've been working in building a relationship with god, but I also feel the need to connect with people.

I'been working on getting closer to my higher power- a god of my understanding.  I don't personally feel like I need to attend church to connect with god, since God is within me, with me, every moment, and everyday and uses…

Disappointed

Relaxed my hair today; after three month or so. Thought it would have grown by now. Well... It has but, only 2 inches. Only the sides touch my shoulders...barely. As for the back… well I might as well be balled. I so wish my grandma didn’t cut my hair as a birthday gift. Going from three inches pasted bra strap, after 21 years; to a short A line cut is not a surprise. Going from three inches pasted bra strap, after 21 years; to a short A line cut is heartbreak. Try to get my mom to help, but… Continue

Art: One of my biggest passions

Today, I was able to get some time to do some art work. Art is one of my biggest passions.

I enjoy the creative process- it puts me in a meditative state. Sometimes I enjoy the process more than the end product. For the most part I do feel satisfied with whatever the end products ends up being.

I enjoy writing poetry as a way to express my feelings and get in touch with my thought process.

I love painting, sometimes drawing, but usually I get the urge to simply…

Valana Minerals and my Personal Experience with Make Up

I was first introduced to Valana Minerals in 2009- and ever since then I fell in love with this great line of Natural Make up products. I love the fact that this make up was designed for women of color, so that we can find the right product that suits our skin tone. I also love the wide selection of eye shadows, lip gloss, soft vegan brushes and grateful that I found my foundation color "Golden Honey!" The brushes that I have are very soft, I have had them for two years now and they are in…

Get Grounded Every Morning!

Sometimes it is very easy to get caught up in today's to-do's and obligations that appear incredibly overwhelming. So many people get so caught up in their obligations that they lose themselves to their work and chores, losing their peace along the way. Interestingly enough, I was been thinking about this issue when I came across Leija Turunen's video on YouTube entitled "Grounding Yourself is So Important!" (quick and cute video):
