Live Your Most Beautiful Life
It's that time of year, and my hair is going into hibernation mode, a la protective styles. While wearing protective styles isn't anything new for me, I am particularly cautious these days about making sure my ends are heavily moisturized before putting them up in my silk rollers and then into a bun style (after I…

Over the past month I've been recalculating my regimen and trying to figure out ways to take my hair regimen to the next level. Overall, my hair continues to be strong and healthy, but I want to make sure that I can guide it from partial bra strap length all the way to mid back length by the… Continue

My hair is off to a good start this year. I have been diligent about my deep conditioning treatments, and started using Carol's Daughter's Monoi Repairing Collection to strengthen my hair during my relaxer stretch.
In terms of length, my hair is getting closer to full bra strap length, but not fully there yet. It is also a bit hard for me to tell anyway,…

One of the best things about keeping up with my online hair journal on Cafe Belle is the ability to look over the posts and the pictures over the year and see how my hair has progressed over a long period of time. In the…

Hair? Meet my bra strap. Bra Strap? Meet my hair. After fifteen weeks of stretching my relaxer, I got my hair relaxed on October 29, 2011(with Organic Root Stimulator's Olive Oil Relaxer, Regular Strength). As usual, the relaxer was only applied to my new growth (which I had a lot of!). So let's do a progress comparison - here is my hair as of last Fall, 2010: …

Just a quick hair update: I am now in my 12th week of stretching my relaxer and am continuing to stretch to the last week of October 2011. I have never stretched my relaxer past 11 weeks (without putting it in braids, etc.), but I have found that it has become easier to stretch my relaxer this year. Why? Well, when I…

Hey everyone! I am happy with my hair progress so far. I got my hair relaxed on July 16, 2011 (after 12 weeks of stretching my relaxer). I mentioned in my last post that I was considering pushing the stretching past 12 weeks, but I really felt it was time when July 16 came around. The relaxer went really well (The ORS Olive Oil relaxer was used on my hair and it is amazing!). My scalp felt great (I used the "regular" version of the relaxer), the hair came out silky and shiny, and a bit…

My hair as of April 18, 2011: 11 weeks post relaxer, APL (armpit length), and about 3 inches from bra-strap length
I'm really happy about my hair progress, but I've learned a lot during this particular stretch:
1) Stick with the same…

Hey everyone! Before you watch the video, I just wanted to quickly mention that I noticed that the ends of my hair in the video may look a bit dry, but they are in fact healthy (just got that confirmed at the hair salon after the protein treatment). Also, the difference in length isn't due to breakage (as far as I can tell) - the hair has been growing all over, at different speeds. I don't get haircuts to make it look even all the way across because I am more focused on having healthy ends…
