Do you absolutely hate Mondays? Do you find yourself dreading Mondays throughout your weekend, especially on Sunday? While some may feel like it is the worst day of the week, you can turn it into your best day with a simple change in perspective:
Conquer the day by conquering your goals:
Monday is a great day to re-start goals that you've put on the backburner for a while. Do you have a certain project that needs jumpstarting? Look at Monday as the day to re-fuel and pump life back into a project or goal that has fallen by the wayside.
Schedule a favorite relaxing activity for Mondays:
You may have your fave activity scheduled for Friday (hanging out with friends, going to certain events, traveling), but consider scheduling a fun activity for Mondays as well. Even if your day is packed with activity and to-do's, carve out some time in the evening, just for you. Schedule a mani-pedi, a coffee date with a buddy, or even a spa-like treat at home by making a bubble bath and indulging in a face mask. Whatever it is, make sure that it is something that you enjoy and look forward to, rather than just another to-do on a list for the day.
If you wake up on Monday morning in a rush to get to school or work, it will put you in a hectic funk for the whole day. Wake up a little earlier than usual, relax, take a walk, or read a book. Clear your thoughts for at least 20 minutes before tackling your first task for the day. Clearing your thoughts will not only make your morning more peaceful, but it also puts you in a better position to have better insight into whatever challenges or tasks that you may face during the day.
Remember that it is a new day, and a new week:
Monday is a great reminder that it is a new day, and a new week. Think of the day as a fresh start, letting go of the past and pushing forward towards what lies ahead. Even if you feel like carrying baggage from your personal life or work life from the prior week, be determined to embrace this new start and tackle what is ahead of you with zest and enthusiasm. Monday is your day to push even further towards accomplishing your goals, so re-set your focus on your journey ahead for the week.
