Hey Belles, 

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of your support of The Cafe Belle. We sent out the following message to all Cafe Belle members and suscribers yesterday: 

Hey Café Belle Fans! Thank you so much for your continued support of this site. Café Belle has exponentially increased its readership and has gained a competitive Alexa ranking over a short period of time! We also appeared on the television show, “Detroit Wants 2 Know” (you can check out the clip here).  We enjoy publishing encouraging, empowering, and informative articles for your beauty, body, and mind and spirit and truly appreciate your support!

When we started this site, our sole intention was to create a website that was empowering and encouraging to women, especially women of color. This intention continues to reside at the core of our mission and our particular niche among online women's magazines. We specifically focus on women of color because there are plenty of messages in the media (either explicitly or implicitly stated) that women of color simply don't "match" society's standard of beauty unless they conform as close as possible to that standard. For example, too many black girls grow up and learn to hate their hair, their skin, and anything that sets them apart from standards of beauty. We want women of color (of all ages) to remember that they are extremely beautiful, and that they should embrace their unique beauty, inside and out. Embrace your features, embrace your skin color, embrace and nurture your hair, and know that all of your features combined create an incredibly gorgeous being. And Cafe Belle is here to celebrate all of you, in beauty, body, mind and spirit.
