Live Your Most Beautiful Life

When it comes to finding the right jeans for you, it comes down to personal style choice, comfort, and overall fit. You have so many options out there, so you may struggle with finding the perfect pair of jeans. Here are some of my personal tips with finding the right pair of jeans for your wardrobe:
1) Try On More than One Pair:
You may pick up a pair of jeans, put it up next to your body while looking in the mirror, and conclude that it is the perfect pair for you. I highly recommend that you don’t do this. You truly do need to try on jeans, even if you are certain that the size matches you. Many stores vary in jean sizes (a size 6 in one store may be a size 10 in another store). In addition, if you bought a size 6 from that store for one style of jean, that doesn’t necessarily mean that a size 6 in another style will also fit well. Always try on more than one pair that suits your fancy, and adjust your choice according to how the size fits you.
2) Don’t just model in the dressing room:
You may try on a pair of jeans while sucking in your stomach and standing still while looking in the mirror, but I highly recommend not posing in the dressing room. Am I asking you to jog in circles in the dressing room, then? Nope. I am simply asking you to be relaxed. Let your stomach out and see if you start to suffocate while doing so (which is a sign that the jeans are way too tight). Bend over and see if your butt peeks out in the process of doing so. If there is a seat in the dressing room, sit down and see if you are comfortable as well. Also, try to try on the jeans with a pair of shoes that matches the height and style of the shoes you plan to wear them with. For example, if you plan to wear this style of shoe with knee-high boots but you only wore sneakers to the store, you may not be able to accurately determine whether or not the jean leg fits well within the boot until you get home.
3) Don’t buy jeans based on your future weight/body goals:
Some women like to buy jeans based on their future weight/fitness goals, and not their current body size. That is a great way to either 1) be really uncomfortable right now in those jeans, and/or 2) collect dust on those incredibly uncomfortable jeans. Be realistic about how the jeans fit right now. These days, it is possible to find jeans that fit your body type as well as your preferred style. For example, in the past, it was hard to find skinny jeans that accommodated curvy figures. Now, so many stores have plenty of options for women with curves, so take your time and find the right jeans that suit your interest and comfort level. If the store you are in doesn’t have what you are looking for, keep shopping!
