Live Your Most Beautiful Life
My hair is off to a good start this year. I have been diligent about my deep conditioning treatments, and started using Carol's Daughter's Monoi Repairing Collection to strengthen my hair during my relaxer stretch.
In terms of length, my hair is getting closer to full bra strap length, but not fully there yet. It is also a bit hard for me to tell anyway, since I am not obsessed with getting my roots fully straight with a flat iron at this point in my stretch (I am a little over three months post relaxer
now). I am a lot more focused on keeping my hair strong and watching out for split ends (I haven't seen that many, but I search and destroy any that I may find at least once a week).
Since the beginning of the year, I have switched from using Hot Six Oil all the time to using Organic/virgin coconut oil in my hair every morning and every night. I am also careful to wash my "Edge Control" out of my edges every day (just washing the edges), since the product easily builds up in the hair with multiple use. Overall, I wash my hair about two-three times per week, and I have decided against co-washing my hair. Why? I don't believe conditioner does a good job of removing scalp buildup. If you really want healthy, clean hair, water and conditioner is insufficient. You should use a shampoo (even one that is gentle/sulfate-free) to remove product or general scalp buildup in your hair).
That's it for now. I will post another hair journal update soon. :)
