Kim Kardashian landed a role in Tyler Perry's new movie, "The Marriage Counselor" (the movie begins filming on Wednesday in Atlanta). The movie is based on a 2008 play also written by Mr. Perry. In the play and the movie, the counselor succeeds at work but not in her relationship. Kim Kardashian to the rescue! She will play the role of "Ava" in the upcoming film, who is a friend and a coworker of the counselor and helps the counselor make over her life during a low point. 

Some people may wonder why Tyler Perry cast Kim Kardashian? I'm not a Kim hater, but she doesn't exactly need this role compared to the many actors and actresses out there that would love and need this role and probably do a much better job. Regardless of her reality-show stardom, she will probably need quite a bit of acting training, and there is no guarantee that she will be able to carry the role the way it should be carried. 

That said, Kim Kardashian is one of the top Hollywood celebrities right now, and she pulls a strong audience. Perhaps it was a strategic move to cast her in one of his films. Despite his already large following, Tyler Perry may stand to gain even more followers by casting such a famous figure in his upcoming film.
