What are your hair resolutions for 2012? Do you plan to stop hair breakage? Learn how to get rid of split ends on your own? Do more protective styles? Transition to natural hair? Whatever your plans, you can accomplish your resolutions by being patient, not giving up, and implementing the right hair product regimen and techniques to conquer your goals!

Here are my hair resolutions for 2012:

  • Deep condition my hair once a week (twice a week during colder months).
  • Keep ends moisturized with oils like organic/natural coconut oil
  • Search and destroy split ends if and when they appear
  • Do more protective styles and airdry more often
  • Do more scalp massages and use stimulating oils like castor oil, rosemary oil, or peppermint oil for the massages
  • Maintain a consistent product regimen every week
  • Limit the use of heat for styling purposes where possible
  • Research and invest in a great "hair steamer" for better hair conditioning
  • Do hot oil treatments
  • Stay on top of doing consistent Aphogee protein treatments at home every six to eight weeks
  • Keep stretching relaxer longer and longer
  • Continue to retain length and grow hair longer than BSL

Hey Kris, I am definitely going to continue to relax my hair every three months to maintain body. I like to tuck away my hair during the winter months and let it breathe in the summer :)  I also find that steaming my hair, helps it grow :)

Kris, right now I'm just wearing it straight. I usually get it washed and flat ironed. Sometimes I'll wear it in a curly afro using those huge black elastic bands. I also wear kinky sew-ins from time to time. I'm pretty simple

@tina: Awesome!

@B. Alexandria: Great to hear! How do you wear your hair as a natural? You mentioned that you don't wear your hair in any natural styles so I'm curious about what styles you are sporting?

My main goal is to focus on the growth and healthiness of my hair by trying to rid of split ends shortly after they appear by a professional. It's hard for me because of the fact that I've been natural for almost three years and every time I wash my hair I have to get them clipped!!! My ends are crazy.. Sometimes I wonder if the natural thing is worth it b/c I don't wear my hair in any natural styles. I also want to deep condition every time I wash and just making sure I tie my hair up at night... In a silk/satin scarf of course. Thanks for the inspiration Kris!

retaining hair for me is keep. I plan on doing this by deep conditioning overnight every week and alternating between moisturizing and protein conditioners.
